About The Biography

"I have always been fascinated by the thought of the bumble bee which, in aerodynamic terms, should be incapable of flight. Against all expectation, I have, like that bee, achieved things which should never have been possible."

The life of Commercial Counsellor Leevi K. Laitinen was previously described in a book by Ulla Appelsin entitled “My Childhood Trapped in a Cult” (WSOY 2010). This widely-read book has now been followed by an expanded and updated autobiography, where Laitinen describes his extraordinary and moving life story in his own words.

At the same time, “On Wings Like Eagles” is the thrilling biography of an entrepreneur. Laitinen is not one of those who attribute their success to their own excellence. It is others who have been of decisive importance in both his private life and in his business activities.

"As I built my new life …, I was privileged to receive aid from complete strangers. Even then, I thought that, once my own life was on track, I wanted to pass on the benefits and help others where I could."

Leevi K. Laitinen has always been involved in many activities. After his retirement he learned to fly, among other things, and this hobby continues to this day.
